Baby Dedication

Last Sunday our family along with 2 other families participated in a baby/family dedication at Southcliff. This is just a promise to the church and the church to us that we will partner together to raise Seth in a Christ-like manner and teach him the Word of God. This is not salvific (since he doesn't know he's a sinner yet), just a public committment on our part to point him in the right direction toward salvation one day, Lord willing!

Usually at the end Dr. Marr (our pastor) picks a baby to hold while he prays. We knew ahead of time that he was going to pick Seth ( I guess because Spencer is on staff). But Seth is really shy and scared of new people and will usually cry if we hand him off to someone he doesn't know, so we were a little nervous about Dr Marr's plan to hold Seth. Dr. Marr was smart though and brought car keys to hand to Seth to distract him and play with while he prayed. SUCCESS!!! No crying or fussing of any kind came from our baby!!! Another litttle wrinkle in the whole day was that he was completely off schedule due to the timing of the dedication (a nap was cut short and he stayed up way too long). But he was a such a trooper and napped really well that afternoon!!! We were so thankful that my family and Spencer's family were able to make the trip! (but Seth missed his Uncle Stew and Aunt K, Malissa, Nicole and Hunter!!) But he did get to see Gran, Pop, GG, Gamie, Papaw, Uncle Steve and Aunt JuJu (Julie)!!! We are so blessed to have such a godly family!

"The Authority of Jesus"

This was the title of Spencer's sermon this past Sunday, Sept. 12th!! (by far his best if you ask me!) He continued with Dr. Marr's series in Mark. Below is the link to watch his sermon --just click play (be on the look out for a great illustration!)

Home Sweet Home

Welcome to the future Plumlee house!! We will be closing on Sept. 27th (Lord willing!). Just to give you some specs--4 bedrooms, 2 bath, covered back patio, hardwood floors...!!!!!! It is bittersweet to leave our seminary apartment life--that we've known for such a long time!! I especially don't want to leave the friends that I've made here as well as the playdates Seth has with our sweet neighbors! But we are still going to live in Fort Worth, just a few miles away!

The big 1-0!

Yes our little guy is 10 months old today!! I celebrated by going to JBF and getting him a few new toys and some winter clothes at such a bargain! At 10 months old Seth would rather be standing up than just about anything...well other than eating (he loves to eat!) He is such a fast little crawler these days---this is also his main mode of getting around. Lately, he gets excited and sqeals when he sees people he recognizes or when he sees other kids! He still takes 2 naps a day and is sleeping through the night usually from 6:30pm-6:30am (give or take 30 min) with a night waking usually around 3 or 4am but goes right back to sleep (usually). Some of his favorite foods include: fruits/veggies, meatballs, noodles, applesauce, yogurt. Actually I have yet to find a food he absolutely hates, however Im sure that will change. His personality is really starting to shine! He is a very cautious and shy baby. He is scared of new people and will bury his face into my neck or just turn his face away! I am betting he will be one of those toddlers that hides behind my leg whenever I try to introduce him to someone new. However, once he warms up to a new person, he is all smiles! A new accomplishment that Seth likes to show off is his ability to clap. You can't always hear it but you can see that he is trying to clap his hands together, he loves it! He is also learning the word 'no.' And I will have to say he usually stops when we say 'no' but sometimes he smiles and we have to keep a straight face so he knows we're not playing. As of late his favorite toy is a cup from the kitchen! He likes to stick his face in it and babble so he can hear it echo! What a boy! Hard to believe his birthday is just 2 short months away!! If I can recall this time last year I was getting his nursery ready and putting a crib and changing table together....time has flown by this year!!

Howdy!

My mom made Seth a cute Texas outfit and I decided to have a little 'photoshoot.' It was really windy so it was hard to keep the hat on, besides the fact that he didn't want it on his head!! But cute none the less!!!
