Fall Festival

Monday, Southcliff had their annual Fall Festival and we were excited to take Seth this year since we knew he might love the bounce house. We dressed him up as a train engineer since trains are one of his favorite things. The overalls were actually my brother's and then mine, because my grandpa wanted his grandkids to have stripped overalls. Seth loved the big train bounce house (but didn't go inside, he was too small). He eventually went into the toddler bounce house, but mostly stood over by the wall and watched and laughed at other kids bouncing around. But the thing that attracted most of his attention was the band instruments and the music! One of our college guys was the drummer and he let Seth play one of the drums! Seth was in heaven! Music is definitely in his blood! Seth as a little train engineer

Seth's reaction was 'wooooow!'

The son of a preacher man!

Its no mystery that a child of a pastor would feel right at home at our church! Seth is mesmorized by the sanctuary everytime we go and is always wanting to stay and listen to the music, or go up on stage and look at the instruments. The first picture is of Seth standing in the aisle listening to Mr. Price practicing the piano for Sunday morning. The second picture is Seth climbing the steps trying to get to the instruments. This little boy loves music!

Rocky Mountain High...Colorado!

Last weekend we went on a very short trip to Colorado Springs so that Spencer could perform a wedding for some dear college students of ours that we have know since their freshman year (they both graduated in May). Andy and Kristin have been dating for over 5 years and were high school/college sweethearts. I also had the honor of taking their engagement pictures too. When our plane landed in Denver, the pilot said, "Welcome to Denver, the first snow of the season!" Andy's dad picked us up from the airport and the closer we got to Colo. Spgs. the more it snowed...it was incredibly beautiful on all the trees! The wedding was perfect and had a very Colo. cabin feel to it! Here are just a few pictures from our trip. I didn't take my big camera, so I had to use Spencers iphone. We arrived at the grooms house just in time for homemade pancakes! Look at that snow!

Pumpkin Farm

Last year we took Seth to a local plant nursery in FTW to take a few pumpkin pictures, but this year we went to the pumpkin farm in Grapevine (a city about 30min from our house) that I wanted to go to last year! Seth LOVED it and loved just running around and being free! Unfortunately he wouldn't sit down in any of the pumpkins, so the other backyard pictures will have to sufice. His favorite part of the trip...the big tactors! He loved climbing on them and sitting up high! There were also some little tractor toys for him to ride on. A good time can come to a halt pretty fast when a toddler trips and falls flat on his face onto dirt and some rocks. Yep, poor thing tripped and got a bloody nose and scratches on his face. It took a little bit to calm him down, but after that he was ready to run again! All in all the trip was worth it since admission was FREE! Seth and Daddy at Hall's Pumpkin Farm
Seth on the big tractor

He loves anything with a steering wheel!

His legs were a little too short to reach the pedals

so we ended up pushing him...he loved it

this is what he did most of the time...run!

I love this picture of him

loved getting in the wagon and riding

this was right before the big tripping accident

he wouldn't look at me, but if you look close you can see the scratches on his face and forehead, poor guy

it didn't take him long to get around to playing again...looking and staying far from the animals

one last run through the pumpkins before we head home

and this is what we saw on the drive home on Hwy 121...beautiful!!!

Fall Fun!

Early one morning about 7:30, I thought it would be a good time for a fall mini-photo shoot. Its still pretty chilly in the morning here so I didn't think Seth would mind wearing a sweater! The neighbor's dog was barking the whole time while we were taking pics so the whole thing lasted about 10 min. since Seth was a little scared. But here are the best ones. Enjoy!!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Today Seth went to his good friend Emma's 2nd birthday party. (Emma is the blonde in the middle in the first picture). Seth and Emma met when they were both about 9mos. old, now its hard to believe they will be 2 (they are about 4 weeks apart in age). Seth loves to play with her as well as Hope, but he is missing his good buddy Ethan who moved last month to Lousiana, but we are hoping to see him in Nov. for Seth's birthday party. These 3 little friends loved eating the strawberry and chocolate cake!!

Rain Dance

Its been pretty dry here in Texas over the past few weeks! At a recent consignment sale here in Fort Worth I bought Seth some rain boots hoping he would get some good use out of them. Seth loves to wear these boots...everywhere and all the time. The other day he wanted to wear them to the kids club where I drop him off so I can work out for a bit...it was about 90 degrees haha (I am letting him have some freedom in dressing himself lately). So here's hoping it rains alot this year! Below is a picture of Seth just after waking up, he wanted his boots on almost immediately! Here is a picture of Seth wearing his boots this evening as he's eating his dinner (hot dog, bun, applesauce and pears...we have turned a corner with the eating!) As I am writing this...a storm is brewing outside...Praise the Lord!

Spencer's blog!

http://www.spencerplumlee.com/

This summer Spencer decided to put his sermon series "Tough Questions" in blog form. He answers tough questions that Christians are sometimes bombarded with and left frozen and speechless when confronted by a non-believer...or even a new Christian. He has also started blogging about passages that hit him hard during his quiet time that day...take a look and read!
So proud to have such a godly man leading our family!

So Long Summer...Hello Fall!

Labor Day in Texas brought 80 degree temperatures! A great relief from the 100 degree temps all summer! It really made it feel like Fall! We can finally go on walks again in the morning and Seth can play outside again...he is loving it! Seth and Daddy playing outside
Labor Day breakfast!

Celebrating the final day of 100 degree weather by skinny dipping in the pool! (we were out of swim diapers)

Enjoying his final swim of the summer!
