A Spring-like day in February

A week after our freezing temps we have had 70-80 degree weather everyday--incredible! This little boy would live outside if he could!

Well we finally have a walker! And let me tell you its been great, he can get to where he wants go with ease. His first steps were actually January 15th and just grew in confidence after that. At his 15month appointment he weighed 24lbs 3oz and he was 30.5in long. He is right on track and in the 50th percentile for both weight and height. He is on an interesting diet of toast, oatmeal, dry pancakes/waffles, bananas, applesauce, pudding, mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, crackers, milk and water---this is all due to him being a picky eater, it makes things interesting. He is also starting to use a spoon and a fork, on his way to independence! One my favorite moments so far of toddlerhood is finding random things in the fridge put there by Seth which includes: keys, magnets, tennis ball, and his toys! As far as sleep goes, he is down to one nap a day which usually lasts anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the day. He also can a few words like dog, mama, dada, go, Jesus, ffff(fish), bbb (barney), kkk (car). However, he understands more words than he can say. This little boy is full of personality and has become very social and we are loving this new exciting and challenging stage!

Cabin Fever

This was day 4 of being iced/snowed in and the Plumlees were beginning to get cabin fever. We had been out a few times to get necessities like diapers, pizza and sonic drinks, but other than that we were stuck at home. But we got about 6 inches of snow for Seth's 15 month birthday! He wanted to get out in it until he found out it was wet and cold!

From hot to cold

Texas weather is so crazy--I grew up here and it still never ceases to amaze me how much it can change is just a day or two! Saturday it was about 73 degrees or so, 3 days later we have a high of 20 degrees with a low in the single digits! And as of now we will not be above freezing until Friday! What are we going to do?! Good thing I went to the store on Monday to stock up on food. Poor Seth, I could tell he really wanted to get out of the house and play today, but it was just so cold and VERY windy. We had to get pretty creative today to keep our little 14 month old boy occupied. Normally he and mommy get out alot during the day to mix things up. But today we watched some of his videos, knocked over some blocks, played cars, tossed the football... mommy and daddy took turns playing with him while the other got some things done or rested! Anyway, Last night we had something the weather people called 'thunder-sleet.' This is a normal thunderstorm but instead of rain, we get freezing rain and sleet which makes for a nice sheet of ice over all the roads. Spencer was fortunate enough to get to stay home today and will also get to stay home tomorrow--lots of family time the next 2 days!
