7 month update (on the whole family)

The month of June 2010 has been a roller coaster of a ride for the whole Plumlee family here in TX! Each of us has battled some kind of sickness or another. Spencer and Seth are back 100% but as for me, I am still working on it. I think all the antiobiotics I was on has given me a stomach ulcer that makes me nauseous...this has been going on for about 2 weeks now (not pregnant!). So hopefully I can get in to see a stomach specialist this week. As for the kidney stone edpisode, we are still waiting on test results to see if it was just an overload on calcium from prenatal vitamins or something else. So please pray that it is just from the prenatals....the specialist mentioned that it could be something else a bit more serious, but he doesn't think so. Our parents have been such a huge blessing to us this month by helping us with Seth and letting me rest.

On a happier note, Southcliff--where Spencer works has completely revamped their vision, mission and staff. What does this mean for us?! Well Spencer has been promoted from college pastor to Grow Pastor. This means that he will be over the discipleship for the entire church! This move for us is bittersweet. While he will still be teaching the college students on Sunday morning- our friend Rob Blodgett (our next door neighbor) and his wife Melinda will be taking over the ministry. We are so excited about all the other changes in the life of our church---its going to be exciting to see what God has in store for the future! So please pray for our family as we make this transition!

Also this morning was Seth's first morning in his new class---he was promoted to a new room--he's growing much too fast! He has a dr. appt this Friday to recheck his ears 4 weeks after his initial ear infection. We are hoping there is no fluid in his ears. Last week while I was playing with Seth and he opened his mouth to laugh I noticed something....A TOOTH! Well the top of a tooth. So it is official, he cut his first tooth at 7 months. Its just through the surface but not in completely. He's drooling like crazy and running a really low grade fever (which is normal), but luckily he hasn't been all that fussy. He is not crawling yet, but we are certain that he will very soon, hopefully before we leave for Memphis in August. He can rock back and forth on all fours, but doesn't crawl. We are also curious as to what his weight is now, Im guessing close to 20lbs! Here are some recent pictures of our 7 month little boy and his adventures plus a video at the end! Seth was helping me with the laundry...so I put him in one of daddys shirts

Gran is here!

Spencer's mom-- "Gran" came to visit us in TX again for about 4 days! Since she last saw him he couldn't sit up and wasn't eating very much solid foods. But now he's sitting so well by himself and he's such a great eater! Im so glad he got over being sick before she got here! I however, was still feeling nauseous from all the antibiotics I was on...and still am to a degree (I am not pregnant!). Anyway, Gran was able to help out so much especially since I wasn't feeling so well. I know she absolutely loved every minute of it and it really gave Spencer and I a break and gave us time to relax. While she was here we went on a walk around campus, went swimming and ran lots of errands. She is coming again next weekend for a short trip, but she is bringing Pop with her this time!!! I know Seth will be so excited to see him and play with him! In Aug. it will be our turn to travel and go see them in Tennessee----Seth will also get to see his Aunt K and Uncle Stew, Great Gran, and hopefully Aunt Malissa, Nicole and Hunter!! Pics below from Grans recent visit... Seth going down to welcome Gran!

"an apple a day....."

On June 4th Seth turned 7 months!!! He's starting to look more and more like a little boy and less like a baby! On this wonderful birthday of he celebrated by having 2 ear infections...and then a couple of days later RSV (again). Poor little guy! Its started by my mom and I (I was staying with her because Spencer was sick!) taking him to the ER because he just wasn't being himself and nothing made him happy and there was the thing of him having a fever of 101...we were outta there and to cook's as fast as we could! After 10 days of antibiotics and breathing treatments he is definitely feeling better and beginning to act like his old self again and beginning to get back a a normal schedule! Needless to say that the past 2 weeks all 3 of us has been sick in one form or another since the end of May and here it is the middle of June and I am just now starting to feel a little better, but all the antibiotics make me super naseous! Please continue to pray for our family as we recover from the following:

Spencer- bronchitis

Seth-double ear infection and RSV (respiratory infection)

Me-kidney stone and sinus infection

Spencer, my mom and Spencer's mom have been such a huge help over the past few weeks by helping us with Seth. Being a mom and dad don't stop when you get sick....you can't really call in sick. For whatever reason all this happened, God has continued to be faithful and sustain us through all this and we choose to praise Him during this 'storm.' Below is a picture of our poor baby at Cook Children's in FTW and in his little hospital gown, he's also holding the oxygen monitor that pulled off his big toe.

Our Little Fish

Tonight we took Seth to his first cookout/pool party. The church staff had big cookout with tons of food. The party started at 6pm so we were hoping he would be in a good mood when we went since it was right in the middle of his normal bedtime routine, but it worked out because he took a really late nap. When we got home he took the world's fastest bath and bottle and he crashed! Tomorrow we are taking him in to get his weight checked because he is very close to needing a new car seat, so I want to make sure he doesn't weigh too much for his current seat. We have a growing boy!!
