12 hours...

...12 hours. That has been the time difference that separated Spencer from Seth and I for the past 12 days. When it was morning in Thailand it was evening in TX, which actually made it easy to figure out what time it was over there. Since Seth was born Spencer has been on a couple of long term trips, but this one was different than the others. This time Seth was able to realize that 'Dadda' was gone. He would walk around saying his name and using his play phone more often. He even got a pouty lip when we had to say good-bye when we 'skyped' on the computer. (skype is like using a video phone).

This trip was also a little different because Spencer was so far away and couldn't come home quickly or Fed Ex me an extra set of keys if I happened to get locked out of the house or the car. So this time I was extra careful and made sure not to lock myself out! Success! I also used this time to try to explain to Seth where 'Dadda' was everytime he said his name. I would tell him that Dadda was far away telling people about Jesus and how much He loved them. Never too early to talk to Seth about missions!

Over the past 12 days we filled our days with lots of activities with friends and family! Gran (Spencer's mom) came and stayed for 5 days! It was really nice having an extra set of hands. We went to the splash pad, rode the Trinity Train, tried to see Winnie the Pooh, and went swimming in the backyard! Gran and Seth had fun playing trains and going on lots of walks!

Seth also went to the splash pad with his friends Hope and Hadden....it was a good time for the mommies too! Later on in the week my friend Jana and I ventured to take our boys to the Science Museum in Ft Worth on half price day...FUN! The boys loved all the things to look at, touch and explore! So glad we went. Jana and I also went to Starbucks one night for her birthday without any kids and talked for about 3 hours!

And to round out the week, Seth and I spent a couple of nights with my parents since he had not seen them in awhile! He loves to feed their dog and play out on the porch!

Over the past 12 days I had several friends and church members call or text to check on me to see if I was ok or needed anything...so thankful for my church family!! Here are some of the pictures from the past 12 days...some from Thailand and some from TX!

And as I write this, Spencer is on his way back to Tokyo, Japan and then he will fly to Dallas and land tomorrow afternoon! We can't wait to see him! Oh dear military wives, my hat goes off to you for being so strong while your love is away....don't know if I could do it!

Arkansas

The week of the 4th of July we went to beautiful northern Arkansas with Spencer's family! Lots of time spent in the water, outside, walking, playing games, etc. But most of all Spencer and I are missing all the trees!
