Mr. Popular

Our Mr. Popular Seth went to a birthday party 3 out of 4 Saturdays this month!  He went to his friend Wyatt's birthday party at the church where the theme was John Deere Tractors- Seth was in heaven!  The next weekend we went to Emma's 3rd birthday party at Jellystone Park just down the highway from our house! What a neat family place! Its fashioned after Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park where families can camp or just come for the day.  We rode on top of a fire truck, danced with Boo Boo the bear, painted a cross during craft time and then had a hay ride! Seth napped great that day!  This past weekend, Seth went to his first Chuck E. Cheese party for his friend Ellie from church.  Talk about sensory overload!  He could have cared less about the pizza and cup cakes- this boy wanted to play! And play he did! Spencer took him around to all the games and he even got a little plastic bug as a prize with his ticket he won! We are all partied out...but we have one more in a couple of weeks...Seth's 3rd birthday party!

Halls Pumpkin Farm

Last year we found a free pumpkin farm in Grapevine and since Seth had so much fun last time, we decided to go back.  This year he really likes pumpkins and so he loved it even more.  Although it didn't feel like fall since it was 85 degrees...but that didn't ruin our fun.  Seth's favorite things were the tractors...he's such a boy!!  Noah had about as much fun as a 1 month old can being strapped in a carrier for about an hour...he did great and was a good sport!

Noah 1 month...already?!

On October 8th Noah was 1 month old! September just flew by...Im not sure if it was because all the days seemed to run together or if it was because I now have 2 and dont have time to sit and think about how there seems to be no beginning and no end to each day.  Seth is still loving Noah and embracing the role of big brother. Seth's favorite things to do as a big brother are getting me a diaper for Noah and laying down next to him in the mornings while he 'plays' under his mobile on his mat.  Seth is also in the business of 'soothing' Noah by putting one of his own toys next to him if he's crying.  Seth seems to have such a soft heart!  At Noah's 2 week check up he weighed 8lbs 13oz (a whole pound heavier than at birth!).  He also received one shot and will get a host of others when he goes in for his 2 mo. appt in November!  Noah is working his way out of newborn sized clothes and into the next size up...he's growing so fast!  He is going to be our talker...he is always making some sort of noise which comes in the form of cooing, crying, grunting or smacking his lips.  He's a noisy sleeper and eater which you can't help but smile at.  He's sleeping anywhere from 2-4 hours at a time and he has figured out day and night time which means he will usually go right back to sleep after his feedings during the night which makes for a happy mom and dad!  Spencer is doing a great job at helping at night and whenever he can to allow me more sleep.  With 2 kids this time around, the whole sleep when the baby sleeps doesn't really exist since Seth could care less that Im tired and want to rest.  However, during the days when he's in school, I am able to rest when Noah does, so its works out pretty well!  Enjoy a few pictures of Noah at 1 month and some of Seth!

The Little Brother

Friday Sept. 7th Seth went to stay with my parents so we could have one last date before Noah arrived.  We went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls at Southwestern and then out to dinner.  We didn't stay out too late because we had to be at the hospital for a 5:30am check-in!  Check-in was fast and they got us into a room.  They got my IV hooked up and running by 6:30am and my petocin going so as to encourage Noah to go ahead and come.  I was told I was going to have to labor a bit before they gave me the epidural...say WHAT?!  Ok so we just rolled with the punches and labored for awhile.  Slow progress and soon my Dr. came in and broke my water at 7:30am which got things moving...but slowly.  I labored for another 2 hours or so until I just couldn't stand it...did I mention that Noah was pushing against my ribs with his little feet during every contraction?  Finally it was epidural time (I was at a 5/6 by that time).  I hate the thought of an epidural just because of how they have to do it...through my spine.  However my fear of the childbirth pain far exceeds my fear of needles, so that leaves me with the epidural.  This time around was a much better experience that with Seth and I started laughing as soon as it started to work!  I could however feel a lot more this time but still not as bad as if I hadn't had it.  Noah still had to make a quarter turn in order to be face down and ready for delivery so the nurse kept turning me from one side to the other and I felt Noah make a big movement and he was ready.  My dr. still wasn't in the room yet and I was a little nervous that our nurse would have to catch Noah.  But she did make it in and I was ready to go!  I pushed for about 10 minutes and he was here at 1:05pm on Sept 8, 2012!  Spencer and I were able to enjoy birth this time a little more than with Seth just because we weren't as scared or nervous...we kinda knew what to expect.  Noah was 7lbs 13oz and 20.5in long and perfect!!
