Fall Festival

Tonight we took Seth to our church fall festival. We weren't sure how Seth would like it or if he would even know what was going on. Well he loved it! He even got to bounce in a smaller bounce house. He also kept his hat on the whole time--that really surprised me! Last year at the festival Spencer and I talked about how fun next year would be and what Seth might be. This time last year I was 36 weeks pregnant and handed out candy at the festival and was about 4 days away from Seth coming into the world. Now look at our little boy...getting so big! Enjoy the pictures and the 2 videos at the end! Seth loves his friend James

Party Animal

Today Seth attended his very first birthday party! Emma is about 3 weeks older than Seth and she had a lady bug party. Her mom Robin did a great job decorating! This made me really excited about Seth's party coming up in the next few weeks. He will also be getting a 2nd birthday party when we go to Tennessee for Thanksgiving. Seth wanted to be in the middle of the action the whole time, he has become such a social little boy. When Emma started eating her cake Seth got so excited and started yelling, he was probably wondering why he wasn't getting any cake! Even though his first birthday party is more for me than for him, I cannot wait!! Pictures below of the party! greeting the birthday girl, Emma--wearing her ladybug outfit
he is obviously having a good time!

Little Social Bug

For the longest time my friend Leigh has been telling me about a special time at the Burleson Library that they have every Friday morning for babies, but our schedule never allowed for it for some reason or another. Today I was determined to take Seth and meet Leigh and her little girl Hope (who Seth just loves!) The story time only lasts about 10 min or so but then they put a basket down on the rug and just let the kids play. Seth sat pretty still during the story and was pretty interested whenever the storyteller would make animal noises from the book she was reading. But I was really surprised by how he just got in the middle of everyone when the basket of toys/books/balls were put out in the middle! Maybe he's more social than I thought! (he's the one in the orange shirt and brown pants). The last picture is just for fun...Hope just got up from a nap and is not at all interested in Seth even though he's offering her his water!

Little Punkin

Originally we were going to go to a pumpkin patch in Grapevine (which is about 45 min away) where they had lots of pumpkins and farm animals for Seth. But since he could probably care less at this age we decided to go to a local plant nursery that had lots of pumpkins set up that were perfect for pictures! (Thanks Rhonda Jackson for the tip!) We were right, Seth had absolutely no clue what has happening or why his mommy and daddy were making him sit in the middle of big orange things...and then make him hold one!! Overall he was a good sport about it all! But don't let all this fall-like scenery fool you....it was 85 degrees!

11 months

Only one more month until our little Seth is a year old!! Its hard to believe how fast its going! This also may be the final attempt at a photo shoot with the blocks. Trying to get an 'almost toddler' to sit still for pictures and not touch the blocks....MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. Gone are the days when I used to sit him down and he didn't move and I could snap picture after picture...he's a little boy, what more can I say...he's on the move! You can see the frustration in his face as the pictures progress. My mom tried to help but he was just to fast for me. He is such a happy little boy and is still a pretty good sleeper, although he is fighting sleep a little bit more these days, which I hear is pretty typical of this age. He loves loves loves to eat....anytime, anywhere, anything!! He is getting more and more verbal....his words now include uh-oh, mama, dada, along with other various combinations of sounds that make no sense whatsoever, but we know he understands so much more than what he can actually speak! He understands: dog, swing, bath, nap, eat, backup, no, Seth, mama, daddy, water, come, hi. Right now he is VERY clingy and hates to be where I am not, which makes it harder to get things done, but I find things to keep him busy. He is not walking yet, but is a crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything! We can't wait to see what this month hold for him! Enjoy the attempt at getting this months pictures! Already getting off to a bad start

Let's get moving

It is official, we have moved into our first home...where we are enjoying wonderful inventions such as a dishwasher and our own washer and dryer (we have been going without for the past 2 years of marriage). Spencer is enjoying his very own office where he can study and house ALL of his books. Its been an adjustment sleeping at the opposite end of the house from Seth...we now use a monitor. The first night Seth had a really hard night....being in a new place and dealing with bad allergies, so needless to say the whole Plumlee family hardly slept a wink the first night. We've tried to keep his schedule and nighttime routine exactly the same and he has adjusted well...it only took 3-4 days for him to really get used to it. Now he loves all the space to run around in his walker!! He also loves the backyard and plays with daddy every evening in their fort!
The actual move itself went really smoothly. My parents kept Seth so we didn't have to worry about his sleep schedule while we moved all day. But we had about 20 or so college students, friends and family help us! We started at 9am, had the moving van packed up by 10:30am and unpacked by noon! After which we all celebrated by having pizza outside (we actually used the pizza to intice the college students to help us, food usually works)....the weather was just perfect for moving (sunny and in the 70s/80s!) We are so grateful for their help!!!!

As of today the boxes are all unpacked and most everything is put away. Just a few decorating things left to do....which I will have to do a little at a time. We miss our friends back at the Manor though....we had such a great experience there and we will never forget Seth's first home!
