August Already?!

I'll be the first to admit that I have dropped the ball on blogging since Easter.  Our family has been on the go in some form or another since May.  This has been our schedule
May-The boys and I drove to Texas with my parents and stayed for 10 days

June-The boys and I got back to Missouri and we had one full day with Spencer before he left for the Southern Baptist Convention in Baltimore.  Pop and Gran came to stay with us until Spencer came back.  (started packing up our rent house to move)
3 days after Spencer got back from Baltimore we had VBS at our church and still packing up boxes
A week after VBS we closed on our house and moved June 30th

July 7-11 Spencer and 3 other adult volunteers took the youth to M-Fuge youth/mission camp; I also put Seth a VBS at the church where he does preschool (win-win).  Somewhere in here I work like a mad woman during naps and I unpack the entire house!

July 20-Aug 1- Spencer and 2 other guys from church went to Thailand in search of a church and missionary that we could partner with in the future.  (they found one).  There was a 12 hour difference in time.  My (Shelley's) parents were supposed to stay with us the entire time Spencer was gone.  They had to leave 3 days early and head back to Texas because my sister in law went into labor early (36 weeks).  We still had a great time! Welcome to the world Krista Arilyn Swofford!
6lbs 3oz and 18in.

Aug 1- Spencer got back to our house around 11pm.
Aug 2- The prospective youth pastor and his wife arrive at the lake.  We take them to dinner and they stay with us.  (Spencer still has jet lag)
Aug 3- The big day! Our prospective youth pastor preaches in both services (He and his wife and Spencer all leave the house for church 7am, Spencer had been awake since 2am!)
There was a meet and greet lunch immediately after the 2nd service and a parent and youth Q &A from 2pm-4pm.  (Spencer still has jet lag and is by this time a complete zombie)
6pm- Spencer is in bed asleep!

This brings me to right now .... here's what's to come...

Aug 8-9 (Fri-Sat.)- the prospective Next Generation pastor and his family arrive at the lake to stay with us (hopefully Spencer's jet lag is somewhat gone by now).

Aug 10-14- We travel to Tennessee family

Aug 22- Meet the teacher at Seth's preschool (is next year really Kindergarten?!?!)

Aug 25- Seth's first day of preschool (he will go 3 days a week this year)

And that in a nutshell has been and will be our summer!! Next summer will not be as busy as we will have more staff members to help carry the load of ministry.  We have kept busy by going to the pool or the park several days a week with friends, hitting the library and just playing outside on the trampoline. Maybe we will be to go on vacation somewhere!!

I will post pictures in a separate post in a few days to show you what we've been up to since Easter!
